Right now I’m saying I Love You, Man is probably your best bet. It’s currently at 80% on Rottentomatoes and is written and directed by John Hamburg (sharing writing with Larry Levin). Hamburg was behind the pretty funny Along Came Polly. Man also stars Paul Rudd and Jason Segel, who have both proven themselves as comic forces. So that’s a pretty safe bet I’d say.
I saw Duplicity today and despite personally being a big fan of writer-director Tony Gilroy I must say I was disappointed and found it dragged. See my review above for more. Critics are more mixed on Duplicity than I Love You, Man according to Rottentomatoes, and I can see why.
Last there is Knowing, which is directed by Alex Proyas (the man behind the fabulous Dark City). Roger Ebert totally dug it, but most other critics did not according to Rottentomatoes. I’ve read some commentary saying the movie goes to pretty wild and crazy places, so it may be worth a look for those who enjoy cinematic curiousities. But for most people I’d say don’t do it.
That’s all folks.
